PLEASE JOIN US on the air for the PVRC Reunion Event!
The PVRC Reunion On the Air is a yearly radio event to encourage all hams everywhere to contact as many PVRC members as possible in specific time period. It is scored and there are ‘special’ PVRC stations/call-signs that are worth more points per QSO. Results will be posted on our PVRC website. You can track your real-time QSO count on the contestonlinescore.com site and by using a UDC file for the N1MM+ Logger program (a UDC was available for the 2024 event).
So, it is also a contest!
Both PVRC Members and Non-Members worldwide are welcome to participate. The more participants, the more fun for all!
Non-members can work PVRC members for points and earn award certificates in their own non-member category.
The first PVRC Reunion On The Air was held in 1964 with 71 participants! See the scoring results of this first Reunion at the bottom of this page. https://www.pvrc.org/FIRSTreunion1964.JPG
That was a one-day event. Changes have been made over the years to encourage increased participation, such as having the Reunion span various hours in several successive days.
Our 2024 PVRC Reunion:
— active on 3 days (Friday, Sunday, Monday), 3 hours each day (unintentionally conflicted with with a 5M contest on Sunday)
— included early afternoon, evening and night hours (East Coast) to accommodate personal schedules and propagation coverage changes
— for each of the 3 days there were designated hours for CW, SSB and RTTY modes – only QSOs on the designated mode score points within the hour designated for it.
— Reunion participation can add a contest event to the PVRC Olympics for you!
— increased QSO points for those who have valid Reunion QSOs with the special PVRC Club callsign stations, W4KFC or W3GRF (see the various PVRC History links on our website, e.g. https://www.pvrc.org/pvrc1958.htm)
Stay tuned for the announcement of the dates for 2025 and specific Rules. The Reunion will likely take place May 30, June 1 and 2; Friday, Sunday, Monday with the addition of Zoom get-together for members an hour before and after each 3-hour session!
