Here are some N1MM+ macros and practices for RTTY. My goals are:
- Be more efficient with the keyboard
- Be able to do that “AND NOW” thing if you hear two calls while running
The key is the grab list in the digital window. As calls are decode and highlighted they’re added to the grab list:

If the call at the top is good, then you can use the {GRAB} macro to copy it to the logger window just as if you clicked on it (or Alt-G -WT3K). With ESM on you just hit enter and you’re into your QSO (run or S&P)
“But wait Sean, two keys? Am I some kind of machine?” I hear you ask…
No! Instead of grabbing and entering, just hit the Insert key and it will do all that for you. I only grab if I know there’s an error or if I don’t intend to send right away.
What if the call on top is garbage and you want the correct one that’s right below? Have no fear, “DELTOP” has your back.
All this comes together if you are calling CQ and manage to get two full calls. In ESM mode, hit Insert to work the first guy, Get their exchange, but instead of hitting “Enter” to log and say “thank you”, use the F4 macro below. It sends a TU to the first person, logs it, then grabs the next call on the stack and sends the exchange.
All this comes together in 3 macros that I have in run mode (and I have F9/10 in s&p mode)
F4 Now GRAB,{TX}{ENTER}! {LOGTHENGRAB} TU NOW {F5} {F2}{RX}
F9 Grab,{GRAB}
F10 Deltop,{DELTOP}
