K4JA Open House 2001

Once upon a time, there was a super multi-op station in Wisconsin, call-letters KS9K. Later, Paul Hellenberg became W9JA.  Later still, he moved to the Northern Neck of Virginia (near the little town of Callao), joined PVRC and began to build his dream multi-single/ multi-two contest station.

The results to date, and the continuing evolution of the station, can be seen at http://www.k4ja.com.  On July 21, 2001, Paul and his wife Betsy invited fellow PVRC members and other friends to an open house at their new place.  The photos below record that event.  We all thank them for their warm hospitality.

This was the scene -- a balmy beautiful day in the mid-80s, and a lot of awestruck hams wandering the premises Bob, W4MYA and Fred, K3ZO surveying the setup.
